The Community and Participatory Arts Postgraduate
Programme has been developed by the Creative
Communities Unit in The Faculty of Arts Media and Design.
The courses aim to meet the continuing professional
development needs of people engaged in all areas of
community and participatory arts, including artists and
community development workers interested in planning or
using participatory arts.

The courses will offer skills in the development of
participatory arts projects in a variety of settings, as
well as up-to-date knowledge and understanding of
the issues that affect arts and community development.
The courses offer a learning experience that reflects the
multi-agency environment in which you are working. The
programme content has been developed in collaboration
with regional arts and community development agencies.
It is taught by a cross-university group of academics and
external specialists, all of whom have an active interest in
and engagement with community and participatory arts.
A wide range of options is available and these, with the
flexibility of the final project, enables a substantial degree
of specialisation.
